The Brand

The Heartbeat of Fashion, Celebrating Design and Style That is Confident and Individual

DEPT seamlessly combines feelings and fashion from the heart, making the brand reliable and inspiring since 1996. Full of international flavour, DEPT is constantly evolving fashion, packed with magical moments and global references, translated into a conversation that is easy to understand for women of all ages and walks of life, all of whom we treat as our friends. We work from the heart to perpetually provide those friends with fresh designs that they keep on coming back for. It is a very personal relationship between the stores, the brand and you. Once you get to know us, we really are the brand that you can trust.

The Collections

We Create Ten Collections Per Year

With each collection we present a familiar feeling in the composition, through a logical structure in the use of materials, a clear handling of colours and designs, plus the right proportion of eye-catchers and must-have basics. Elaborate themes, with the emphasis on new shapes and designs, carry a strong character and a clear signature. Our collections always champion a rich collage of pattern and colour with fun details. It is what we are famous for, and proud of it. Each collection has its own colour signature and aura, and is always 100% DEPT.

It’s a shaded view this season. We create an exciting mismatch with blurred, spotted and smoky photoprints together with a wide selection of !owers. Steal the spotlight in the chic and upbeat polka dot trend, like our dotted denim in black-on-black. Complete the look with ‘starry’ universe prints, a perfect match for when evening wear becomes daywear. Getting dressed up is all about having fun. Be the ultimate display of your own style. Party dresses are hot! No other piece has such power to make you fall in love, and this season you will. A wide selection, from sexy and strapless dresses to more sturdy and relaxed shapes.

The New Store Concept

Showcasing Our Collections

In November 2009 DEPT launched a brand new Retail concept. Working with renowned Architect firm Bear & Bunny, DEPT have created a unique and impactful brand environment for you to absorb the full DEPT brand experience. Fusing inspiration from The Atelier, mixed with the richness of our own Fashion magazines and photostudio vibe, the concept creates a warm and inviting environment to showcase the rich colours and prints of the collections. Fabulous merchandising is on quick rotation and the routing maps out a perfect retail experience. The first store was launched in Utrecht. And new stores followed in Rotterdam, and Eindhoven. DEPT’s retail concept has also expanded into a fully functioning ‘shop-in-shop’ concept with key multibrand retailers throughout Europe. To find your nearest DEPT store, please click here.

History

Dept's Beginnings

Tommy Netten, had a vision for the Dutch market: to create a retail environment that was new to the territory, inspired by creative retailing of New York. So in the mid 90’s the first DEPT store was opened in Utrecht. It wasn’t long until a small collection of own-branded products were introduced. By 1996 a full collection was being designed, and the next step was to sell this brand wholesale, first in Holland, and then around the world. This developed to 6 DEPT stores in Holland, and the DEPT Collection has been embraced in over 1800 stores worldwide, with distribution partners in over 18 countries.

Countries

Dept has a Global Network of Showrooms and Distributors

As well as the original showroom in the south of Holland, DEPT is constantly expanding its distribution newtwork, with representation throughout Europe and America and new showrooms in Amsterdam, Belgium, Berlin, Copenhagen and Los Angeles.
